Let’s face it, these days most of us lead busy lives.     And leading busy lives can mean we often look for the convenient option.  Thankfully now days we don’t have to compromise on quality either.

Fresh Start Baby Food offers convenience and goodness, what more could we want.

Their wholesome purees and yummy home-style meals are all freshly made using quality local ingredients, to give a nutritious start to a healthy life.

Having worked closely with a dietitian specialised in peadiatrics, to analyse the  products and to make certain they had all the right amounts of all the good stuff for bubs.

All the meals are prepared and cooked in small batches just as you would at home.

The meals are designed for the various feeding ages.  They should come in adult sizes cause they look mighty good.

I certainly wish I had of known about Fresh Start Baby Food when my baby was younger.

    Ode to my Watermelons

I have just been down to water my vegie garden and admire my growing watermelons to discover that the man of the house has murdered them.

In his quest to put power to our shed, he has dug a trench right through my watermelon patch and pulled them out.  It would seem he did not notice the great big things attached to some of them and probably assumed in his ignorance they were weeds.

Our shed is about 60 m from our house, so it is an ambitious trench, one which seems to be destroying my garden.

So I do believe the man of the house will be getting a right royal bollocking when he gets home for killing my watermelons with his silly trench.  We haven’t had power to the shed for 3 years, surely he could have waited till watermelon growing season was over?

    Goodbye sweet watermelons.

    Featured Store: Flobib

    banner

My bubba got his first tooth at four months and as a first time mum, I was quite shocked and horrified at ALL THE DROOL!  Daggy old bibs covering up his gorgeous outfits really quite upset me, and changing his clothes five times a day because of sopping drool wasn’t too much fun either!! A solution was required!

Fortunately, Flobib saved us from fashion faux pas and drooling disasters by turning my wee bubba from a drowned rat to a seriously hip bandanna bib wearing dude! See him in his gorgeous Noah’s Ark Flobib:

Nikola of Flobib tells us that all bibs are made using ultra absorbant cotton, vintage, recycled and designer fabrics. And I can vouch for the quality!  I must have washed that bib a gazillion times and it still looks just as gorgeous as the day I received it.  I’m sure my friends at Mothers Group must have just about gone mad listening to be harp on about how much I love the Flobib! Sorry ladies!

Flobib have expanded their range to include some gorgeous Pocket Burpers to place on your shoulder when burping. This ingeneous design has a pocket which stays open to catch milky burps – saving your clothes and your sanity!

Flobib are happy to gift wrap your items (bibs make great baby shower gift I reckon) and their choice of colours and fabrics are really quite astonishing.  I’m sure you’ll start DROOLING yourself when you have a gander at the beautiful products Flobib have on offer!

I might go and drool some more myself!

    Five Minutes with Flobib

    logo

Urgggh teething time.  It is happening right now in our house, in fact I think it has been happening FOREVER.  Besides the lack of sleep with my teething bub, I also get the worlds most wet baby.   My first son lived in a bib, it drove me mad, as back then there was not quite the fashionable selection there is today, and it was always a daggy terry towelling number.

If only I had known about Flobib way back then.  A fabulous way to cope with the drooly bub syndrome, but in a fashionable way.  And how cute do these Flobib’s look on?

Recently I spent 5 minutes with Nikola-Jane from Flobib and here is what she had to say:

What inspired you to start your business?

I really got my inspiration when my little girl started teething and dribbling everywhere – her clothes were getting soaked all the time and I didn’t want to put a plain boring bib on her, covering her pretty clothes up. I found some really cute vintage fabric, and made her a bandanna style bib. Once friends started commenting, I thought that I could take the idea further and start a small business.

I have always been into crafts, fashion and making jewellery. So learning to sew has been my new fun thing to do!

    What was your first sale?

My first sale was to a friend back in the UK – she bought two bibs. It’s lovely that some of my friends have been my first customers. They have offered suggestions and given great feedback.

Where did your business name come from?

Flobib is named after my little girl, Florence. Also, the endless Flo-w of dribble I had to deal with!

Where does most of your creating take place? Show us.

At the moment, on the breakfast bar of my kitchen – it’s not ideal, but I live on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea, so it’s got a great view!   We need more space so we are moving house in the next week or so – I will  miss the apartment a lot, but I will have a proper work space in the new house so that will be fantastic.

What is your favourite item that you make?

    flob

I love the Daisy Girl bib. It’s Amy Butler fabric – so cute.

What do you hope to achieve in 2009?

As Flobib is a new venture for me, getting out there and attracting new customers would be a great achievement. Continuing to work on my website www.flobib.com and coming up with new product ideas. I am attending Mathilda’s Market on the 5th July, in Sydney. So as it’s my first market, I am looking forward to the whole process of making stock, creating a stall, and meeting my customers! I am hoping the market will be a success.

What was the last handcrafted item you brought?

Not very exciting, but essential for a new mum – a wheat bag pillow, I bought it at Paddington Markets in Sydney – great to soothe my neck!

What item couldn’t you live without?

My teapot. I love my tea.
