The 70’s, the year Caz & I were born, the hippie movement gained momentum, rock and roll ruled, Elvis kicked the bucket and fashion was loud and big.
Being that I was under 5 for most part of the 70’s I don’t remember much, but just have some photographs of my parents in the 70’s in some interesting outfits. My Mum’s wedding dress was a white mini with knee high white boots.
So here is a look at the decade that was 1970.

1 Monster Baby Super Freak Onesie
3 Samibop Vintage Fabric Shorts

As a child of the 60’s I can remember the 70’s really well – especially those matchin’ outfits my mother used to make myself and my sister out of all different kinds of groovy fabric like the Monsoon and Mangoes top as well as the fabric in the Samibop shorts – sooo cool!
I also remember watching old Elvis movies in the 70’s and seeing my friends mums ooh and aah over him. He was a pretty cool cat in his younger days and when one of my lovely customers asked me to make a pendant I chose the pic above from an vintage movie mag that really captured his good looks and fun loving spirit!
Thanks for the great post and thanks for featuring some Ruby 2 Go Go goodness xox
Helen – our mums must have shared the passion for dressing their kids the same – many many outfits my sisters had
I love Elvis, we share the same birthday so my “pool room” have a few Elvis bits and bobs in it!
Thank you so much for featuring my little vintage top in this post! what a lovely blog you have
