I was really looking forward to receiving the products to review for Lily & Charlie. One of their hair tie designs in particular really caught my eye and I was secretly hoping it would be amongst the package.  And yes, it was and just as gorgeous as the photo!

Lily & Charlie is a small business based in Tasmania, run by the very friendly BJ.  Lily & Charlie specialise in hair accessories handmade with care and great attention to detail.

The first thing I noticed was just how beautifully the package was wrapped and presented; I was scared to mess it up. Each item was carefully displayed on a card, again with real care and passion for details.

So far we have been wearing them for the last few weeks; including my daughter who is only 3 and is not the gentlest with her possessions; but I’m happy to report the hair clips and ties have stood up to the challenge and look as beautiful as the day we received them.

I’m a sucker for the Shabby Chic Vintage style range. They are just gorgeous and have that extra special touch to them.

As a Mum of two very spirited little people, I found there to be an absolute lack of practical yet stylish & contemporary hair accessories. I began making my own, and received many compliments and questions of ” where did you find that?” which was very often followed by requests of orders for their own little girls. My brand Lily & Charlie has grown organically from very humble beginnings  & I have recently added a beautiful range of bookmarks and brooches.

I aim to be as unique as possible while still offering flair and style.

I was recently given some samples to try and I have to say that I am really impressed. AromaDoh not only smells heavenly but they are so soft and moisturising.

The kids were mesmerised by all the different smells and the soft texture, making it really easy for them to mould and shape. There was also no fighting over the doh. They had so much fun passing the different doh’s back and forth smelling each one and guessing the different smells. Not only are they great for imaginative play, they are an awesome sensory tool.

AromaDoh founder, Liesl has a son who has Autism and out of the need to have a toy that could entertain as well as have therapeutic qualities, she “invented” Aromadoh.

“UpDownSideKids has been a dream for over 20 years I love the name UpDownSideKids! When my son Hayden was two years old, he would see something upside down and say… “look mummy it’s UPDOWN SIDE”! It was just too cute, I never corrected him and the name stuck”.

UpDownSideKids is for a child focused world – bringing kids clothing back to the basics. They are handmade with love on the South Coast NSW, one by one – for kids to wear and enjoy.

So when May contacted me with the offer of gifting me some UpDownSideKids products to road test, I could not refuse.
UpDownSideKids tees are not only adorned with funky bright designs which catch every child’s imagination, they are also extremely comfortable. Made from 100% cotton, UpDownSide tees are so soft and durable. There are no itchy scratchy prints on these tees, all smooth and comfy. Even the embellishments are soft, causing no irritation. Each stitched securely in place. All seams have also been double stitched for durability.

Within our package were also some UpDownSideKids accessories, a felt beret, bracelets and hair accessories.
My heart melted when I saw the felt beret. It was STUNNING! Made from 100% wool felt and oh so soft and warm. Adorned with a gorgeous contrasting crochet applique and felt flower, perfect for your mademoiselle.

My daughter’s eyes glowed when she saw these fantastic UpDownSideKids bracelets. These are like none other that I have seen. So bright! The beads have a crackly look to them but are smooth and light, perfect for little hands. Each with a silver tone charm attached.
Miss A has not taken these off, she tells me that they are “the coolest ever”. Big call, and I agree. They are pretty cool.

Lastly, beautiful hair accessories.  A dusty pink soft tulle bow and silver bird slides. So simple and keeping with the UpDownSideKids philosophy of being unique. With so many hair accessories available, I have yet to see a tulle bow like this. The tulle is the soft delicate tulle, not the itchy scratchy nasty stuff, and the sliver birds, well, I’m claiming them for my own.

UpDownSideKids are a great handmade brand that I totally recommend 100%. The quality is fantastic and you can see the pride May takes in her products right down to the packaging. I really look forward to following the UpDownSideKids journey and seeing their range develop and grow.

Its not everyday that I get the chance to do a product review, so when a little package arrives, the anticipation of opening it always gives me butterflies. You just never know what is going to be inside that package.

This week I was thrilled to open a sweet package from Katie Rose Designs. Inside was a gorgeous personalised plaque for my daughter.
You should have seen the look on my daughters eyes when she saw it. PRICELESS!
She loves owls so this plaque was perfect for her bedroom, taking pride of place on her door. “This is my room and now everyone knows it”

You can see the craftsmanship that goes into each and every Katie Rose Design. Each plaque is carefully cut, including all the letters and motifs and hand painted in gorgeous glossy paints. The plaque even came with removable adhesive stripes for hanging. These removable strips are perfect for those that maybe renting or who do not like to use hooks.
The plaques are also very generous in size, this one measuring  almost 30cm in length.

So as you can tell, I had one very excited little girl and I was a very happy mum. I can definitely recommend Katie Rose Designs.
