Hints For Using Iron On Transfer Paper

Guest Post

Iron on transfer paper can be a great way to personalise a project with a photo or message, but it’s also tricky to get good results every time. Here are a few tips to improve the results.

1. Read the instructions on the packet thoroughly before use.
2. Remember to print words as a mirror image.
3. Cut very closely around the image with scissors and a blade for the fiddly bits.
4. Ditch the ironing board and use a wool blanket on a hard surface to iron on.
5. Don’t move the iron over the surface, just press it down for about 30-50sec.
6. Wait till the paper is almost cold before carefully peeling, not cold, almost cold.
7. Let the transfer cool down totally before handling it. (It sticks to itself if it’s still warm)

I hope that some of these tips help you in your next project.
