Have you discovered the wonderful Robintail yet? If you haven’t you are certainly missing out!

Today we are very lucky to have the lovely Megan from Robintail on the blog to inspire our senses with talk of old world charm, shimmer and sparkles and her new spring range.

Robintail

Hi, I’m Megan, and I own a little brand called Robintail. Robintail is an independent clothing label for little girls, from baby to child. The garments and accessories are handmade and designed by me, in my country studio, which is the fancy name for the room at the front of our house, where I sketch, sew, drink tea and make a lot of (creative) mess. Apart from my Robintail routine each day, I have a lot to do outside the studio too, as we live on a farm and spring is a particularly busy season “ there are a lot of mums and babies of the four legged, furred and feathered variety that require attention too, sometimes a lot more than you’d think!

Spring is such an exciting, lovely time of year. It doesnt matter where you live, the air is full of new life and the warmer days mean you can trade in your leggings for shorts and sundresses, and head out for a picnic or day at the beach. My spring and summer collections this year are inspired by days gone by, when life seemed a little bit simpler! Running barefoot in fields and grabbing handfuls of wild flowers, splashing about in shallow springs and having watermelon running down sticky chins evoke warm memories of childhood summers.

I chose vintage inspired florals, blended with a bit of shimmer and sparkle to bring the old world up to date with the new. Crop tops might be on trend, but to me they seemed like the obvious alternative to a longer shirt in summer, when the days are so warm, layers often arent an option. Its important my pieces are not only stylish but are easy to care for too, whether a little one wears her Robintail for good occasions only or to the park to play in, wash and wear is important either way. I’ve also added a touch of the sea into the newest range, with four different nautical bloomer styles dubbed playfully  Nauti Bloomers. These mix and match with our various tops and blouses and the two printed versions are made in buttery soft lawns so cool and light for summer!

The Vanilla Blouse was also a special addition to the Robintail range. Finding good quality, simple blouses to wear with skirts and shorts is harder than you’d think, so I designed this sweet vintage inspired top to fill that gap the subtle peter pan collar and broderie anglais print add a little detail that keeps the Vanilla Blouse pretty and fresh while remaining simple enough to match anything.

The Robintail spring line was created to evoke memories of days gone by and remind us all that childhood is but a short time and it should be celebrated. Good Quality and Style are a match rarely made in these days of frivolous fashion, but I’m set on bringing it back, because clothing should be an expression of who we are, not a quick turnover for a short lived season.

Kylie, thank you for sharing Megan’s new range. It’s delightful! Megan, it’s lovely hearing your thoughts on children’s fashion, because I feel exactly the same way. They’re young for such a short time, and it’s wonderful to celebrate that with classic pieces! Congratulations on a stunning Spring range.
