Introducing: koo-ki-nuts

Featured/ Play

koo-ki-nuts was conceived in early 2010 with a single owl softie, designed and sewn by Erin Johnston in Albury NSW. Since then the koo-ki-nuts brand has evolved to include lots of different products, such as handmade badges, bookmarks, greeting cards, wheat packs, and rattles.

Many of these products have been created in response to people’s requests, while others have come about in a more serendipitous manner. For example, the super-cute koo-ki-nuts soft toy rattles (loved by babies, toddlers & their parents) were a happy accident.

Late last year Erin had some of her designs printed onto cotton with the intent of making them into kids wheat packs, however when the fabric arrived she realised her measurements were very wrong… and the prints were miniature! Voila – the koo-ki-nuts rattle was created.

Erin’s goal is to one day give up her government day job and instead ‘koo-ki-nut’ from a sunlit studio with her best friend, bringing lots more idea’s to life. In the meantime she will continue to create in her spare time, and seek a fair trade and ethical manufacturer for her rattles. Watch this space…

Boondie Baby is all about making practical day to day items more hip and modern. So they look fabulous on our shoulder,  in our handbags and on our prams. Boondie Baby use the most gorgeous bold and modern fabrics, that are comfortable and soft for baby.
The range has something special for sleeptime, playtime and feed times.  The fabrics used are all 100% cotton and Organic Cotton Fleece, great for babies sensitive skin.

Lauren, owner and designer behind Boondie Baby says

“Since having our 3rd child, I have had an urge to get my products out into the market, that not only are practical but modern and stylish”.
“I just adore creating unique items for new babies, matching their nursery, but most importantly offering mums, something modern and handmade that you cant find anywhere else”.

Having a background in design and the customer service industry, Lauren decided to expand her skills and give her little dream an opportunity to become reality, aiming to design products for mothers who desire a more modern and unique nursery.
Custom orders are also welcome. So many mums have already chosen colour schemes for their babys nursery, so its an attractive option to have items custom made to suit the nursery decor.

Lauren is definitely making her dream a reality with Bondie Baby; your place to find modern, unique and practical items.

Introducing: Market Angel’s Search for Angels on the Street

Featured

When Katrina Musgrave of Berwick Victoria decided to launch Market Angel, she had no idea that within less than 2 years she would have built Australias Number 1 Market Shopping Directory Website*.

œI have loved Market Shopping since I was a little girl and I rediscovered this love after having my two children. I started seeing more and more markets pop up and the high quality, well priced, unique childrens clothes they sold made me fall in love all over again
Katrina noticed pretty that you really need to be in the right circles to not miss a market; online research showed a few states had market directories in place, but no one was taking a national approach and so Market Angel was born.
œIts been a busy 2 years growing Market Angel and for it now to be the Number 1 Market Directory Website in Australia is amazing. I dont want to stop there; I want to expand the website to help mums realise there is a cost effective way to buy their children beautiful clothes and toys, while supporting other mums in business or to take advantage of preloved childrens markets and pick up some real bargains

Market Angel is launching a Nationwide Search for œAngels on the Street, with one Angel on the Street to be selected in each state to scour markets and report back on the latest and hottest deals, designers and locations.

œThe Angel on the Street can be a mum, a blogger, a shopping addict, a bargain hunter or all of the above! We want to motivate women to get out and support market shopping, with the Angels on The Street giving monthly updates on whats hot in their state

The competition is being promoted across print media, online advertising and a host of online womens communities. Entrants need to submit a photo and 200 word writing sample on one of 3 topics which will be judged by an expert panel including Bec Davies founder of madeit.com.au. If you are a market shopping addict enter at www.marketangel.com.au/angelonthestreet between February 1 and March 15.
