Markets This Weekend: Made On The Left

markets

Lucky for you peeps who are in Perth or who will be in Perth this weekend. I have a feeling Made On The Left markets will be a unique and joyous shopping experience!

Held on both Saturday 25 July and Sunday 26 July, there will be close to 40 different vendors on EACH day! Designer goodness … Im shivering with delight!

Made On The Left is a not-for-profit organisation that was founded in 2008 by independent designers with the intention of supporting Western Australian creative talent. Their aim is to support all creative designers and events showcasing independent labels.

Being on the Left Hand side of Australia no longer means that US as shoppers will be at a disadvantage.

We get the cream of the crop!

Get along to the Hyde Park Hotel, 331 Bulwer Street, West Perth this weekend!

Welcoming our new fabulous contributor!

Hand Made Blog/ Just saying

Changes are a blowin in the wind at Handmade Kids.  Soon you will find Caz lurking about the place and having her say on all things handcrafted in Oz.

Caz has come on board Handmade Kids to provide a different perspective.  Unlike Jemma, Caz has no skills in kids clothing, looking at the quality of seams or the stuffiness of stuffed toys…. she simply squeals with delight when pretty things are placed in front of her (which doesn’t really suit her 30 something years).

Caz has a 7mth old baby who sleeps infrequently has sharp teeth and a severe drooling problem.   Motherhood, contrary to popular belief, has not come “naturally” to Caz, so she intends to provide you with information about innovations, potions, sleep saving devices and mother in law keeping away tactics.

Jemma is really excited that Caz is coming on board to showcase a different perspective on all things handmade.  Although their styles and tastes may differ, their commitment to sourcing quality Australian handcrafted products is unwavering.

PS – can you tell I asked Caz to write a quick witty introduction?

Mathilda’s Market Perth & Brisbane

markets

This weekend if you live in Brisbane or Perth you are lucky enough to be able to attend Mathilda’s Market.

Mathilda’s Markets showcases Australia’s designing entrepreneurs and their unique handcrafted baby and kid wares.

Handmade and limited production goods will be on display for sale from clothing, homewares, accessories and toys.   They range the essential and functional parent’s need to one off creations.

Market Founder Anne Lewis says designers and artists impress with their original designs.  “The flavour of Australia is exceptional, compared to other countries; mainly due to the geography and their openness to their own creations.  There really is no limit to the imagination of our stallholders and to the quality of their items”.

The Brisbane Market will be held at the Town Hall from 9 am to 1pm

The Perth Market will be held at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Belmont from 9 am to 1pm.

Featured Store: Milla Ruby Designs

Play/ Wear

Caddie is the creative genius behind Milla Ruby Design.

Caddie is a SAHM (Stay at Home Mum) to two little girls.  What originally started as a hobby and a small store called Caddies Wonders, has now progressed into her own online store, Milla Ruby Design

At Milla Ruby Design you will find something for babies, something for boys and something for little girls.

With the colder weather most of us experience, I suggest having a look at the beautiful minky beanies.  Perfect to pop on those tiny heads on those chilly days, they look extra snugly.

Caddie is also available for custom orders.

There is also a competition currently on the Milla Ruby Design Blog to win a taggy dino, so don’t forget to enter.
