I don’t think so … I gotta say – I’m looking forward to heading back to my part-time job and dropping off my wee man at day care for a break!
Too many late nights, too much of getting spoilt with sugary goodies and too much good food and drinkies for mumma leads to a tired kid and a cranky mummy!
So tomorrow when I head back to the office and greet my colleagues I don’t think it will be with the usual post holiday blues – but rather with a spring in my step and plenty of water-cooler chatting about ‘what relaxing holidays’ we all had!
Here are my blue finds:

Obviously in Australia we don’t have hedgehogs, but as they are quite popular at the moment I could not resist a post on these cute, but spikey little creatures.
My first encounter with a real hedgehog was back in about 1997. Caz and I were young carefree backpackers. Together in our hire car, fondly named “Ian”, we left our very unsavoury bedsit digs in Romford, Essex and headed North to see where we would end up. Upon landing across the Scottish border we discovered a large rugby weekend in a small town, so figured this is where should be. After a night out on the town and on our journey home, we met 2 young Scottish lads, am not sure how, think they were loitering, and someone where in amongst all that loitering, we also saw our first hedgehogs.
The entire episode was filmed on our trust video camera (the size of small house in those days) and always gives me a giggle. The strong Scottish accent was very hard to interpret, but what can I say, we fell in love with hedgehogs and that accent and so ended up settling in Edinburgh for the remainder of our trip.
So in memory of our first encounter, here are some sweet hedgehog finds.
The devastating floods in QLD have affected many communities and Handmade Kids in conjunction with Rudy & The Dodo are holding an online auction. All funds will be donated to the QLD Flood Appeal.
The Auction will commence at 8am (WA Time) / 11am (EST) on 14th January 2011. Any bids placed prior to the start time will be deleted.
The Auction will end at 7pm (WA Time) / 10 pm (EST) on 17th January 2011. All bids placed after close time will be deleted.
In order to bid you must comment on the photo you wish to purchase with the amount you are prepared to pay. By bidding you have committed to paying this amount should you be the highest bidder.
Donating stores will be responsible for posting the item to you. You will not be charged any additional fees once the auction has ended.
Winning bidders will be contacted via Facebook messages. Please make sure you can allow messages via Facebook. Once payment is made please email us with your name, postal details and payment method you have made so that we can send co-ordinating information to the donating store to enable your items to be sent.
Payment is to be made within 3 days of the auction closing and can be done via paypal to auction@handmadekids.com.au or by direct Deposit JL Bell T/A Handmade Kids, BSB: 126 573 AC: 21382012. Please make sure you leave your surname and item number you have won as the reference.
Items will be posted once payment has cleared. Items will be posted from the donating store, not from Handmade Kids. Handmade Kids will not accept liability for items and parcels not received. If you encounter any problems, you will need to deal directly with the donating store.
100% of all funds raised from the auction will be donated to the QLD Flood Appeal. Handmade Kids will be responsible for any administration, paypal or bank fees that may be incurred.
Hi guys, wow this is the first time I have touched my blog in two days – crazy.
Am just quickly updating to say, thanks for all the awesome support. We are currently closed for donations and busily trying to get them all on for tomorrow. We now need everyones help to spread the word and get as many people bidding as possible.
For all my HMK clients, I am sorry I am ignoring your emails and I hope you will forgive me. I am unable to get to them or posts at the moment, whilst this takes priority. I will reschedule any advertising that has been missed and make it up to you, so I hope you understand.
I hope to be able to attend to all my enquiries etc soon.
Handmade Kids has proudly joined forces with Rudy & The Dodo to conduct an auction to raise funds for the people of QLD who have been devastated by recent flooding. All funds will be donated via the QLD Flood Appeal.
We are currently taking donations of prizes to be auctioned via Facebook in order to raise the needed funds. The auction will take place begining on Friday, 14th January 2011.
Please note, donations are not limited to Handcrafted only items. Whilst we both totally love and suppor the Handmade Community, our aim is to raise funds and so have not restricted to other online stores who wish to donate.
