Amaria's Paper Work

For some items you really need to see and experience them to get a full appreciation.  This is how I have fallen in love with Amaria’s Paper Work.

Amaria sent us a few of her items for a review and as soon as I opened them I instantly thought these are so cool, forget the kids testing this one out, it is all mine.

Together with a wooden shaped person, the sets come with a variety of outfits and magnets so they can stick easily to surfaces such as your fridge or a magnet board.

Myself and the little one set about spreading them all over the floor and after popping the magnets on (a very simple task) and then we were off and playing.  We had a ball, both of us, not just me pretending I love sitting on the floor with silly voices acting out scenes.    My 8 yr old also enjoyed them thoroughly and played with his brother that afternoon (not fighting either).

Amaria’s Paper Works really encourages the kids to speak about the items and my little one could be found very busily chatting away about all the different clothes his person needed to wear and where they were off to.  There aren’t that many toys about that really encourage that sort of interaction, but I found this one to really hit the mark.    He made little stories up, got a real kick out of taking their clothes off then yelling, ohhhh you in the nude (even though the characters had underwear on – yelling nudey is an exciting thing in our house).

I think Amaria’s Paper Works would be perfect for kindies or playgroups as an activity for the kids – I am sure the Mums will be brought back to their childhood as I was playing dress ups.   With all the fabulous choice in styles of dress including around the world and occupations they give many opportunties to promote discussions on lots of wonderful things and the kids just love play acting with them.  There is even a football series, so surely Dads will be sucked into play with the kids as well.

If you are looking for a simple, yet really fabulous tool to encourage play and interaction with the kids, I would definitely give Amaria’s Paper Works ago, they are a huge thumbs up in our house.
