Project 18

Articles/ Mum

Through Handmade Kids I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing women and one of those is Cate Bolt.

Cate is a writer, photographer, humanitarian, conservationist, small business owner and a mother of 9. She recently walked away from a successful business & luxury lifestyle to dedicate the rest of her life to building an orphanage & wildlife refuge in Indonesia.

Every night 1.8 million children in Indonesia sleep homeless. For most of us that number is unfathomable.

Over 50% of Indonesians survive on less than $2US per day. Of the 500,000 children in Indonesian orphanages today, almost 90% still have a living parent. They just simply cannot afford to feed them and out of desperation, many of these children are dumped in hope that someone more fortunate may be able to give them a better life.

Another one of those amazing women is Jo from Baby Jo Bamboo.  Jo has called on her fellow online community to help Cate and Project 18; if you read along with Cates blog you can see that her and her family are going through a bit of a tough time at the moment.

As part of Project 18, Cate has been busy creating some gorgeous handcrafted items that people can purchase.  All the items fabrics have been completely donated, including Cate’s time to make them.

This Christmas, help support this very worthwhile project by purchasing one of Project 18’s goods.  You can find them available in the Project 18 Store.

Here is a look at just some of the fabulous items you will be able to find: VISIT PROJECT 18 STORE
